Psych is an American crime/mystery comedy television series that premiered on July 7, 2006 on USA Network. It is the network's longest running current original series. It stars James Roday as Shawn Spencer who uses his eidetic memory with the observational and investigative skills that his father ingrained in him during childhood to fake being a psychic who consults with the Santa Barbara Police Department to solve cases, as well as running a psychic detective agency called Psych. He is (reluctantly) helped in his charade by his best friend, Burton 'Gus' Guster (Dulé Hill), and his father, Henry Spencer (Corbin Bernsen). He generally works with police detectives Carlton Lassiter (Timothy Omundson) and Juliet O'Hara (Maggie Lawson) and under the direction of Police Chief Karen Vick (Kirsten Nelson).
Episodes usually begin with a flashback to Shawn's youth, showcasing one of Henry's lessons for his son. These lessons are typically used or applied later in the episode.
A sixth season of the show, consisting of 16 episodes, premiered on October 12, 2011.
Overview
Most episodes begin with a cold open in the form of a flashback. These flashbacks show that Henry Spencer (Corbin Bernsen) wished that his son would follow in his footsteps and become a law enforcement officer. In preparation, Henry helps Shawn hone his powers of observation and deduction, often using games and challenges to test him. Each flashback also sets the theme for the episode, based on the challenge Shawn's father presents him.
Shawn (James Roday) originally becomes known as a psychic when, after calling in tips on dozens of crime covered on the news, which help the police to close the case, the police become suspicious of his knowledge. The police theorize that such knowledge could only come from the 'inside' and they decide to arrest him as a suspect. To avoid being sent to jail, Shawn uses his observational skills to convince the police that he is psychic. The interim police chief warns Shawn that if his 'powers' are fake, he will be prosecuted. With no choice but to keep up the act, and having proven himself an effective aid to the police in solving crimes, he establishes a psychic detective agency, Psych, and becomes a consultant to the police. Pretending to have psychic powers allows him to engage in strange and comic behavior as he turns real clues into hunches and otherworldly visitations. He enjoys teasing lifelong friend Gus, a pharmaceutical representative, about Gus's eclectic interests.
Head detective Carlton Lassiter (Timothy Omundson), playfully named 'Lassie' by Shawn and Gus, quietly respects Shawn's crime-solving skills but doubts his psychic abilities and is constantly exasperated by his antics. On the contrary, junior detective Juliet O'Hara (Maggie Lawson) and Chief Vick (Kirsten Nelson) are far less antagonistic – with O'Hara expressing belief in Shawn's abilities, while Vick is mum on the subject – and usually willing to give Shawn the leeway he needs to solve cases. Henry and Shawn have a difficult relationship, but despite this, Henry reluctantly helps Shawn on various occasions.
Main characters
Shawn Spencer (James Roday) is a freelance consultant with the Santa Barbara Police Department, pretending to be a psychic. However, it is really his exceptional observational skills and eidetic memory that allow him to obtain his 'visions'. He refuses to take anything seriously, though has matured slowly throughout the seasons. He has had romantic tension with Juliet since they met, which led them to start dating in the middle of season 5.
Burton 'Gus' Guster (Dulé Hill) is Shawn's best friend and business partner. He also is a pharmaceuticals salesman. Unlike Shawn, he takes his work very seriously, and usually tries to act professionally, yet usually ends up as invested in jokes and snacks as Shawn is. He is famous for his many aliases (usually given to him by Shawn), including 'Magic Head', 'Lavender Gooms', 'Ghee Buttersnaps', and 'Control Alt Delete'. He is known for being attracted to all types of females, who usually end up as the prime suspect.
Carlton 'Lassie' Lassiter (Timothy Omundson) is the head detective for the Santa Barbara Police Department. He is skeptical of Shawn's psychic abilities, and is extremely annoyed by Shawn's comic antics. However, he occasionally must come to Psych for help with his more difficult cases.
Juliet 'Jules' O'Hara (Maggie Lawson) is a junior detective for the Santa Barbara Police Department, and is Lassiter's partner. She joined the SBPD after Lassiter's old partner got transferred in season 1, and was originally a cop in Miami. Throughout the series she and Shawn share constant romantic tension, and the two start dating in season 5.
Chief Karen Vick (Kirsten Nelson) is the SBPD Chief. She is tough but fair, usually reluctant to hire Shawn and Gus for cases, but almost always gives in. She respects Shawn's help and input but firmly keeps him in check (as much as she can) when he pushes the limits of the law or her patience.
Henry Spencer (Corbin Bernsen) is Shawn's uptight and precise father and a former police sergeant. He is usually visited by Shawn with questions about various cases, but is usually reluctant to help. He has been rehired to the SBPD to be in charge of the department's consultants, much to Shawn's chagrin. At the end of Season 6, Henry quit the SBPD and then was shot by a former police partner in the season's cliffhanger ending.

If none of those work, it’s time to pull out some bigger guns. Give the procedures in the following sections a try. Before you get started, though, you should create a system restore point. Clear the Windows Store Cache from the Command Prompt

To open Command Prompt, right-click the Start menu (or press Windows+X), choose “Command Prompt (Admin)”, and then click Yes to allow it to run with administrative privileges. When you run the command, it will process for 30 seconds or so, and then the Windows Store window will open automatically. Check your updates to see if they work.

Repair the Windows Store with the Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter

If clearing the cache doesn’t solve your problem, you can try the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter. Windows includes a number of built-in troubleshooters that help find and repair various problems. The Windows Store Apps troubleshooter is not built into Windows, but you can download it from Microsoft for free. They have both a Windows 10 version and a Windows 8 version, so make sure you grab the right one.

After you download the troubleshooter, double-click the file to run it. In the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter window, click Next to start scanning for problems.

The troubleshooter works through its process and then lets you know whether it could identify and fix the problem. Most of the time, the troubleshooter can successfully repair a stuck update. Go ahead and open the Windows Store and try updating your app. Even if the troubleshooter says it couldn’t identify the problem, it’s possible that the actions of starting and stopping the service and clearing out the cache did the trick.

Re-Register the Windows Store with PowerShell

If all else fails, you can try re-registering the Windows Store, which is as close as you can get to reinstalling it. To do this, you’ll need to use PowerShell, a powerful scripting language built into Windows. It’s a bit different from the Command Prompt, but it’s not too hard to figure out. Bootable usb app mac.

After months of promises, Microsoft finally released Windows drivers for its Xbox One controller, allowing it to pull double duty as wired controller for PC gaming.

Unlike the Xbox 360 wireless controller, which required a separate dongle for PC use, all you need to use the Xbox One controller on PC is a standard Micro-USB cable. Now, plug in your Xbox One controller. It may vibrate briefly, and you should see a “driver software installed successfully” message on the System Tray.

At this point, you should be ready to play. Games that support Microsoft’s Xbox 360 controller should automatically recognize the Xbox One controller without any additional setup (with some exceptions described below).

Potential issues

The biggest problem is that several of the games I tested would not recognize the controller, including Dark Souls II, Transistor and Eldritch. Citizens in Rise of Nations gather resources, or build or repair damaged buildings. All of the six resource types in Rise of Nations are infinite in supply.

Any of the game's nations can be played during any age, regardless of that nation's fate throughout actual history. Each of the 18 civilizations in Rise of Nations has 4 to 8 eight unique units. Some unique units are based on units that those nations would have, if they were not destroyed in real-life. For example, the Native American nations (the Aztecs, Maya, and Inca) have unique units in the Modern and Information ages which resemble real-world Iberian-South American guerrillas. Gameplay focuses heavily on creating a balance between offense, defense, and economy. The player can also purchase reinforcements or bonus cards and engage in diplomacy with other nations. The campaign starts at the Ancient Age and progresses slowly over the course over the campaign to end at the Information Age (present day). During a battle it may be possible to advance to the next available age and upgrade units for the battle.

Rise of Nations uses an Elo rating system to rank players.

AMAZING

I've always been a massive fan of this series; it taught me to love novels, basically. This enhanced version is so very tastefully done. I am so glad the illustrations are 'grown up', and will appeal to both young and old. Rowling's personal additions is just icing on the cake. Cheers!

Could Be Better

The illustrations are very nice and some are animated but there is no sound. There are only a few annotations and they are short. This is disappointing given the amount of extra material that was written for Pottermore. I think these enhanced eBooks should be more enhanced than they are. This is Harry Potter after all.

For all the frills, still missing some basics

I was excited to own this version, but when I downloaded the sample, I reconsidered. Left-flushed pages look terrible (give us the option for justified!), and the forced black-text-on-blinding-white-background is ridiculous. The great thing about ebooks is how flexible the text can be, but here, all we’re allowed to do is change the text size. I suppose I’ll hold off for now and wait for at least the color issue to be resolved; all of my other ebooks are in night mode, and I just can’t read this text as it is.

Plot

Game of Thrones' final season won't have two-hour episodes.

Around this time last year, HBO executive Casey Bloys got some fans excited about the prospect of longer episodes for season eight.

'I imagine [the episodes will] be longer but… I'm not sure [how long],' he said at the time. 'We haven't had that discussion yet because I don't know how long the episodes are going to be. Two hours per episode seems like it would be excessive, but it's a great show, so who knows?'

One year on, with Game of Thrones episodes in the process of being edited, Bloys appears to have a better idea of episode lengths.

Although he did not say how long the final six episodes were going to be, he did confirm that none of them will be two hours.

'Not two hours,' he told Entertainment Weekly. 'Yes, they are not going to be [two hours long]. Not that I've seen, anyway.'

Bloys added that he is not certain when fans can expect to see the trailer for the final season, adding: 'I would guess [this year], but I don't know.

Overview

The Vestax Typhoon is the newest Vestax all-in-one controller which allows DJ’s to create, manipulate, and mix audio files from their computer with one simple to use machine. Vestax is marketing this unit as a super-affordable controller that is perfect for beginner DJ’s and people who just want to mix and play without all the extra gadgetry and money involved.

Staff Review

Overview:

The Vestax Typhoon is the newest Vestax all-in-one controller which allows DJ’s to create, manipulate, and mix audio files from their computer with one simple to use machine. I personally never had the pleasure of actually using a Vestax controller (i.e. the VCI series), but after viewing the unit on youtube, I had to check it out for myself! Vestax is marketing this unit as a super-affordable controller that is perfect for beginner DJ’s and people who just want to mix and play without all the extra gadgetry and money involved. (note: The Vestax Spin seems to be an identical unit that is only compatible with MAC while the Typhoon is compatible with Windows and MAC.)

First Impressions:

Right out of the box the Vestax Typhoon looks pretty stylish. Immediately jumping out at you is the all-metal faceplates of the individual jog/platter wheels. The rest of the entire unit is made of a hard polymer/plastic which was probably done to pass the savings onto the consumer. The bottom portion of the unit has a rough black texture to it, while the top face of the unit is a smooth plastic with a carbon-fiber look to it. All of the sliders and knobs are a metallic-red plastic material and all of the buttons (also a hard plastic) are white and illuminate when depressed so the user can see what options are selected at a glance. The layout of the Vestax Typhoon is exactly what you would expect from a 2-channel mixing device, with all of the controls on the left of the unit corresponding to unit A and the controls on the right corresponding to unit B.

Setup:

The Setup of the Vestax Typhoon was EXTREMELY easy. Right out of the box, all I had to do was connect the Vestax Typhoon to my computer using the supplied USB cable and run the Driver and Traktor Software CD’s and I was ready to spin! The user interface is very simple. All a user has to do is import their audio files into the program and insert them onto the left or right deck which corresponds to the controller’s left or right deck.

Outputs: RCA and ¼” Headphone (with volume control knob)

Features:

Platters/Jog wheels:

The direct user interface for audio manipulation lies with the platters. The platter sensitivity can be adjusted using the plastic knobs found on the back of the unit (Touch Sensor Level) which controls each platter individually. The sensitivity can be adjusted as far as having no touch sensitivity (meaning that nothing happens when you touch the platter), all the way up to full sensitivity (meaning a user must manually move the jog back and forth for anything to be played). For scratching and general mixing this must be set to the middle, so that when the platter is released, the audio file remains playing. The platters also illuminate red when in “play” and illuminate to blue when the platters are manipulated. The platters have a nice and steady feel to them and the metal surface is surprisingly “grippy”. With that being said, the delay in using the Traktor LE without timecoded manipulation makes the unit very hard to scratch with. Even pulling off simple scratches will take some practice if you want to be on-beat. After an hour I was able to time everything just right to pull of baby scratches. Other than that, I would say this unit is best suited for mixing. I was able to use the platter to mix and match BPM’s by riding the platter into the position I needed it to be. That worked very well for an all in one unit. The Tempo sliders (found in the upper corners of the unit) are used to speed up or slow down the audio file on the corresponding deck while the plus/minus sync buttons below allow a DJ the ability to micro-adjust the tempo for more accurate beat-matching. Below the platters are the usual Play/Cue/CUP buttons that controls the playback of the track currently assigned to the deck.

Faders:

The Faders of the Vestax Typhoon are better than what I had initially anticipated. The Crossfader is a short-throw fader that doesn’t have a curve adjustment, but was set at a happy medium which allowed me to pull of some elementary scratching while also being a wide enough curve for a smooth mix. The Crossfader glides relatively smooth with very light resistance. The Line faders are longer in throw and have a bit more resistance than the Crossfader, making them ideal for those long mixes. All in all, the faders are good and never showed any signs of degradation, but they do feel inferior in quality compared to other Vestax products. If the unit was a proper turntablist machine, then these faders wouldn’t last the test of time, but since this machine isn’t made for scratching; they should hold up just fine.

EQ:

Each deck/channel has its own on-board Three-Band EQ (LOW, MID, HI). The EQ’s are adjusted using the three (center-click) red-metallic plastic sliders and they provide a complete kill when adjusted to the extremes. Next to the EQ sliders is a gain slider to ensure accurate volumes of the source mixes.

Effects:

The effects found on-board are Filter, Delay, and Loop. The Filter effect is done by pressing the FILTER button which then turns the platter into an X-axis/Y-axis controller for the filter/flanger type effect. The Delay function is done by pressing the FX1 or FX2 button (depending on which deck the effect will be played on) and assigning the effect in the Traktor program. I assume there are ways to assign other effects, but this is what was available by default. Each channel/deck has its own LOOP SET function which allows the DJ to set a loop point and use the plus and minus buttons below to cut or increase the loop length. These extra functions made the Vestax Typhoon a lot more enjoyable to use and they are a welcomed addition to the experience.

Other buttons found on the unit allow the user to select which deck will be monitored through the headphones (one button per channel) and a one-touch SONG LIST button allows for navigating through the playlists in the Traktor program using the arrow button below.

“One Thing” is also an upbeat, up-tempo pop rock song. It reveals a boy’s mind when he is in love. The song reminds you that “Young Love is wonderful!” or makes you look forward to it through the lyrics.

The song peaked on the US Billboard Hot 100 and appeared on many other charts. And it’s 1D’s second best-selling song in the UK.

Transformers: The Last Knight is an upcoming 2017 American science fiction action film based on the Transformers toy line. In the Apple TV app,¹ you can buy or rent movies, buy episodes or seasons of TV shows,¹ and subscribe to Apple TV channels to stream or download movies or TV shows. On your iOS device, Apple TV, or compatible smart TV, look for the Apple TV app. On your Mac or PC, use iTunes.

Tap the Buy price, then tap Purchase. To buy a season or Season Pass for a TV show, scroll down to How to Watch, then tap Buy Seasons. You might need to sign in with your Apple ID.
To play your video, tap . Or tap to download the video to your device.

On your Apple TV or smart TV

The Apple TV app is built in to Apple TV and is available on compatible smart TVs.

Download Itunes Movies To Pc

Open the Apple TV app, then go to Watch Now, Movies, TV Shows, or Kids at the top of the screen. You can also use the Search tab to find what you want to watch.

When you want to buy something:

Select a movie or TV show.
Select the Buy price. To buy a season or Season Pass for a TV show, scroll down to How to Watch, then select Buy Seasons. You might need to enter your Apple ID password to complete your purchase.
To watch your video, select Play. You can't download videos to your Apple TV or smart TV.

To find your movies and TV shows, go to the Library tab.

In iTunes on your Mac or PC

Open iTunes on your Mac or PC, and select Movies or TV Shows¹ from the menu in the upper-left corner. Click Store at the top of the window, then browse or search to find a specific title or keyword.

When you want to buy something:

Click a movie or TV show.
Click the Buy price to purchase an entire season. Or click the price next to an episode to purchase a single episode. You might need to sign in with your Apple ID. For TV shows, you can find options for buying seasons and Season Passes at the bottom of the product page.
